ICEMBIO

“Harmony through cellular and molecular integration”

About Us

The Integrated Cellular and Molecular Biology (ICEMBIO) Laboratory has dedicated our focus to unravelling the complexities of cellular and molecular biology. Our laboratory strives to stand as a beacon of innovation in the pursuit of knowledge with cutting-edge research, where scientific curiosity meets groundbreaking discoveries. Investigating potential solutions for combating cancer and understanding the processes associated with ageing.

We are looking for passionate and motivated individuals to join our team and contribute to groundbreaking research in molecular biology. Opportunities are available for graduate students, postgraduate students, and postdoctoral researchers to explore and contribute to studies on ageing biology and cancer. We encourage you to contact our principal investigator if you would like further information.

Ongoing Research

Cancer Biomarker

Focuses on identifying and understanding biomarkers that drive cancer progression and therapy resistance. These studies aim to advance early detection, improve prognostic tools, and develop personalized treatment strategies.

Cancer Treatment Strategies

Focuses on exploring natural anticancer compounds for their ability to inhibit tumor growth and induce apoptosis. These compounds are being studied as potential less toxic alternatives to conventional therapies, to integrate them into personalized treatment strategies.

Cellular Aging Dynamics

Investigates the mechanisms driving cellular aging, focusing on key processes like telomere shortening, DNA damage accumulation, and changes in cellular metabolism. By understanding how these factors contribute to age-related diseases and tissue dysfunction, we aim to develop strategies to delay aging and promote healthy aging at the cellular level.
